Zardens - Blackness Unfolds
We all know Warnacht from his previous bands Moribund & Ex-Delirium. In 2008 he started Zardens and they released their first album Breeding The Dark in 2012 which resulted in supporting Immolation during their "Summer Invasion Tour in 2012".
On April 18th they released "Blackness Unfolds" This release was supposed to be released in 2013 but due to some line-up changes this was postponed'till now.
Zardens plays blackened Death inspired by the Scandinavian bands of the nineties like Darkthrone, but it mostly reminds me of older Ancient Rites-albums. The album starts off with a nice atmospheric intro called "Battle Rite" and then throws 9 straight ahead without nonsense or uneccesarities your way before going out with another very nice instrumental outro. the whole album will give you 41 minutes straight forward Blackened Death.
Some of you might start to think "Is there any music this guy doesn't dislike" when I say I was never a fan of the 90's Scandinavian scene apart from the Göteburg thing that is. But Zardens know how to bring Blackened death in such a manner that I keep listening to "Blackness Unfolds" without thinking "bah, been there done that".
So this album is definitely worth checking out!
