A short interview with Nicholas Brynin from Komah
Tell the BMU-readers a bit about KOMAH, introduce yourselves
Komah is a band from belgium formed by Luigi ( ex.Do or die ) and Jonas ( Pro-Pain ). The band allready released 2 full lenght albums. We are working on the 3rd one for the next following months , before goin on tour again.
You released Between Vice in virtue in 2012, what have been the reactions to that album?
The reactions about the album has been really great so far. The album opened some new doors. It was like takin a new start. Half of the line up changed and we had to find ours marks. We really got somethin goin on as a band now and I can promise a really good new album.
Since we released Vice & Virtue we found a new manager , toured with Pro pain , played Graspop... Like I said, It really opened some doors for us.
You do put on a good show indeed. Komah isn't very well know yet on the Flemish side of our country what are you going to do to change that?
It's true , but since our new manager is in the team , we played at...Graspop , After party for Trivium at the Trix in Antwerp. The antwerp metal fest with Exodus and Biesenrock of course.
We will try to expend our territory and play everywhere we would be welcomed.
So this next album, what can we expect? Can you lift a tip of the veil? More Greek Mythology lyricwise? And when will it come out?
I will only tell you the theme. "The end of a world". Natural catastrophies and the people facing it..
We are workin on the pre-production of the album right now, so I presume it will be released beginning of next year.
How's the deal with spinal records working out for you? would you advise other bands to make contact with Marc?
Great. Yes sure any bands with a good album should send it to Spinal records.
So back to the performing, for the folks who have seen you live. what may they expect?
Pure energy. A visual with good performers giving 200% of their capacities for a full hour , good vibes and hot sweat from the scene to the crowd.
What would you consider the band's influences? What bands would you love to play with. Are there bands you admire that we don’t hear in Komah?
It depends a lot...I personnaly listen to funk and hip hop music. But we would say Machine Head, Killswitch Engage , Lamb of god etc
How do you feel about this whole NWOBHM? new wave of BELGIAN Heavy
In Belgium there was 2 band that splitted up:
- Lo Dep
-The Link,
But I love many other bands like Guilt Monkey , you need to support my other projects too haha and many other bands. The local scene is really awesome if you seek through all those bands that doesn’t get much recognition
Hahaha! So your plans obviously are to recor your 3rd album, play more gigs,... anything else?
not only play more gigs. But to tour europe ( or more ) as much than possible. I know that we planned at least 2 tours for next year
great! anything you want to say to your fans and possible new fans out there?
For anything in life you need to work and give 200% of yourself to get there.
You ain’t goin to regret a thing , we will make your ticket worth every cents until you beg for more. Move your ass from your couch and come to real live shows , to feel a real experience.
