Ethernity - Obscure Illusions
Belgium is producing a lot op top acts lately and I although I'm not into the female fronted stuff (the BMU-readers know this already) I consider Ethernity to be one of them.
When you put on this record, you immediately are sucked into the energy that this album has. Ethernity plays (female fronted) progessive power metal led by the brothers Spreutels and Julie Colin. The music is powerful, technical, meticulously played, very wel sung but most of all very listenable...
The Cd contains 12 songs that have good variations between power & melody, going from powerfull riffed songs to great powerballad-like songs. From the first till last note I'm captivated by the music Ethernity throws in my direction.
If I should make a comparison with other bands the name Dream Theater comes to mind.
I have no doubt in my mind that this band should be at the bigger festivals in no time!
This is great stuff!
