OLDER REVIEWS
Torturerama - It Begins At Birth (Re-Issue)
Dolorem records send us the Re-issue of “It begins at Birth” by Torturerama. This EP was already released on tape at the end of 2013.
Torturerama is a band from Limburg that revives it victims lust for old School Death Metal. It’s Members originate from bands like Solipsist, Ex-inferis, Gorath,…
I can hear definite influences from Dismember, Entombed, Grave, and even some old Edge Of Sanity in their Musick
“It Begins At Birth” has 4 pounding death metal songs that span about 15 mins. You can hear the bass guitar ripping through the guitars which is something I like very much. I gives the music an extra dynamic. The vocals of Stefan Culot are mix between Ola Lindgren (Grave) & Dan Swano (Edge Of Sanity,…)
I haven't heard the original cassete so I can tell you if the sound was upgraded or not. I can only say it rips like a torturers bonesaw!
This band could make it big in the underground scene if they keep at it.

Skeptical Minds - Run For Your Live
Skeptical
Minds is a “Belgian” band with international line-up. It’s members originate
from Poland, France, Italy & Greece and they call Bruxelles their hometown. On the 18th October they’ll
release their Live-album ”Run For Your Live”.
This album contains 10 live-songs from the Metal Female Voives Festival X and spans for about 39 minutes. For a live-record I feel the sound could be a bit better, it lacks that “ this was an awesome gig” vibe. Maybe a video would have been a better release for a Cd never brings out that real live-vibe.
Once again, the female fronted scene is not my thing, but I must admit that this lady can sing and the music is rather good. It’s eclectic, which is never a bad thing.
So, personally I would run for my life (get it?) before buying something like this but for the fans of Skeptical Minds this should be considered a collector’s item! So get yours as soon as it is released!

Valkyre - Our Glorious Demise
To be honest
I’m definitely not into this kind of music, but I must say that Valkyre did get
my attention when I listened to their record and that in itself is quite an accomplishment.
It is fiery, it swings, and has some very nice harmonic singing parts.
Valkyre plays melodic atmospheric metal with female voicing. And they do it well.
Formed in 2004 the band is paving their road -with a 2 year break - for about 10 years now and you can hear that in its songwriting.
“Our Glorious Demise” contains 10 songs and spans just over 39 minutes. Every song is catchy and has great singing and powerful riffing. I don’t know how to get into this music deeper, I can only tell that I enjoyed listening to it.
If you like this genre, this is definitely the shit! Check it out!

Fire Force - Deathbringer
Fire Force
rose from the ashes of Double Daimond in 2008 and brings us Heavy metal pure
sang.
Their Bio says a slight hint NWOBHM can be found but I feel the music goes more
in a modern heavy metal direction.
This is Fire Force’s second album and was released in June of this year (2014).
It contains 12 songs, 1 cover from Tygers Of Pan Tang and spans 53 minutes.
Songs are powerfull with thundering rhythms and some very cool riffing. This combined with some very - and I do mean “very very very” - good singing makes this an album worth checking out!
The cover song from Tygers of Pan Tang on this album is more powerful than the original and vocally it comes very close! Good stuff.
For the fans of the genre this is a constant head banger! So jump on your Harley and go buy this album!

Dyscordia - Twin Symbiosis
This is a
record that has been released more than a year ago. But since we recently
received a promo packet for this record we decided to review it anyway.
Dyscordia is a six piece band playing a modern version of power metal. What I mean by that is that the starting point here is power metal but that they try to season their sound with influences from progressive and extreme metal.
So while their songs are basically power metal songs they have some parts with more progressive guitar and vocal lines, while they also add some grunting and modern thrash parts in other songs.
This release is produced by jens Borgen and sounds very slick. Also the musicianship of the members is not to doubted. So If you like melodic metal I think you should at least give this band a spin.

Control State - The Delta Pack
Control
state is a band from West Flanders that claims to be influenced by amongst others Unearth and Lamb of god. They
also claim that growing up in the H8000 area left an imprint on their music. I
must say I don’t really hear those things on “The delta pack”.
What I do hear in here is a band that tries to create modern metal core songs in the vein of new in flames and bands like Malrun, Mercenary and killswitch engage (to be honest, they mentioned this band as a major influence also). The problem is that they are not on the same level as those bands. And if you are trying to compete in a crowded genre like melodic metal core you really need to stand out.
My main complaint about this is that the clean singing is not that good and that they use this not so good singing a bit too much. It is not that Bram can’t keep a tone, it is just that the vocal melodies are not catchy or gripping enough. Also the fact that the songs are sometimes a bit long does not help him.
So is this record completely doom and gloom then? Well no, I like the more NYHC style vocal parts in some of the songs, as well as the nice modern thrash influences. A song like “Leap of faith” shows that with adding a bit more aggression, this band is capable of writing good modern metal core songs. In other songs they also try to widen their sound with clever things, and some unexpected parts.
So if you like modern metal core, you might want to check this record out.

Chalice - There Is Nothing
Another album
that is already more than a year old but still needs the support it deserves!
“There Is Nothing” opens with a Twisted Sister-kinda beat that immediately reminds me of “You can’t stop rock & roll” but rapidly turns into fiery though melodic Thrash/Death with some awesome and for-all eclectic vocals. They remind me a bit of Mikael Stanne from Dark Tranquility.
As I read the biography I can tell this band has known it’s up & down and stands firmly with two feet on the ground. And that is something you can hear in their music. This quintet knows what the hell it is doing! As a matter a fact, back in 2002 I shared the stage with them at the Bang Your Brain festival in Roeselare and they were already great back then!
“There Is Nothing” contains 8 songs that span just over 40 minutes and is worth it every fukkin’ second! I got nothing more to say about this just that you should check it out & buy it!

Warckon - High Treason
Thrash
Metal is doing rather well in our country and Warckon is another band that jump
on the wagon in 2009. In 2012 this band was selected for the last 100
contenders of Humo’s Rock Rally which in itself is quite an achievement. They
got picked up by Emanes Metal Records from France and released their 2nd
album “High Treason” in March (2014).
High Treason contains 10 Bay Area thrash songs lasting 51 minutes. I can hear definite Death Angel Influences and a touch of NWOBHM. You can hear this band is a strong & experienced quintet, just listen to the meticulous soloing.
Wouter’s vocals are a mix of Marcel “Schmier” Schirmer and Mark Osegueda. The last (bonus)song on this album “Grief Is In The Eye Of The Beholder” is an attempt to a ballad-like song in the wake of songs like Metallica’s Fade To Black. I think it’s rather good except for the high pitch "scream" in the background.
Another band that goes on my like list!

Notti Del Terrore - Havoc
This one is
more than a year old (released may 2013) but was part of the package delivered
to BMU by Hard Life Promotion. And since
I hadn’t heard of this band before I’m doing the review anyway.
Belgian Metal must be promoted!
Notti Del Terrore brings us Industrial metal with Fear Factory & Strapping Young Lad influences. It’s members hail from bands like Tud Russel, Angeli di Pietra & Axamenta.
Fast, relentless, aggressive, technical, machine-like, are words that come to mind when listening to the musick. The vocals are violently raw & screamy and remind me of Burton C. Bell & Gary Meskil.
NDT delivers 8 solid & powerful songs in 33 minutes. This whole product is DIY and although very well produced, it could do with a professional producer to bring out this band’s music even more and give it that little extra touch that it needs to be full-on in your face. The fist is there, the punch is there, now let’s add some brass knuckles and we could have a Belgian Fear Factory on our hands here.

Seventh Circle - EP
Seventh
circle is a band from West Flanders whose name I have seen on a lot of show
posters. Most of their shows seem to be within the new West Flemish metal core
scene. And for some reason I always assume that all those newer bands from that area sound like third rate clones of
All out war and Hatebreed. Well I was completely proven wrong when I gave this
ep from the Seventh circle its first spin
Seventh circle are a band that combines hardcore, crust, grind, death metal and black metal into a very volatile cocktail. Your reaction might be: oh well, there is an abundance of bands that are combine these influences lately. And your comment would be true also.
But this record while clearly part of that new wave of bands, delivers something more. Firstly the songwriting quality is topnotch and the production is aggressive and in your face. Secondly, even though, there are only seven songs Seventh circle manages to make every song sound unique and relevant, unlike some other bands in this genre.
If I would have to mention some bands that pop up in my mind when listening to this, I would name Nails, Trap them, All pigs must die and Ceremony (still nothing moves you era). The catch here would be that Seventh circle does not pale in comparison with these bands.

Drakkar - Once Upon A Time... In Hell
Drakkar, a
band that started way back in 1983, splitted somewhere in the Early 90’s and
had several “comebacks” in the latter years is back with a full album released
by Spinal Records.
Once upon a time… In Hell opens with an instrumental song “Enter The Darkness”, and gives us 12 songs, a medieval intermezzo and outro in 54 minutes. Drakkar plays a mix of Heavy & Speed metal. Vocally it reminds me of Accept’s Udo Dirkschneider but just a tad better, I can also hear some Iced Earth Influences in the singing of Leny. Drakkar also uses a lot of “all band” backing vocals. Musically I find a lot of influences from the 90’s Heavy Metal scene. Bands Like Judas priest, Helloween & ofcourse Accept come to mind.
This album was professionally recorded, so there nothing to mention about the quality, everything is top notch. The songs handle all kinds of concepts, from depression, war to the crusades & medieval France but sadly the 12-page booklet contains no lyrics, but only clues to what the songs are about.
And who do we have here? Yep Jonas Sanders! Also in this band he conquers the drums… anyways,...This album is definitely worth checking out!

Videmur - Finality
Videmur
were worried that they wouldn’t qualify as a Belgian band, since they have two
members and only one of them is Belgian. Well that makes that this band has at
least 50% Belgian members and that is a higher percentage than Belgian death
metal pride Aborted. J
But all kidding aside, let’s discuss Finality, the first full length by this Belgian/Puerto Rican band.
They themselves say that they play depressive ambient black metal. But I also hear a whole lot of funeral doom influences in this band.
When I first listened to this album I felt that the songs missed a bit aggression. But that was when I was still expecting black metal. After a few listen sessions the songs grew on me. I still think that the first song “Whispers from a time forgotten” has some weird transitions, and that the Skeletonwitch cover does not really fit the album. The other songs would also benefit from more intricate drum patterns (I think the drum is programmed) and some haunting second guitar lines, but they are still very good dark black/doom songs.
This is a decent album and you should check this out. But I think that with a bit more attention to songwriting and arrangement and a better production (it sounds very frail) this could be a very good album.

The Curse Of Millhaven - Vestibule Of Hell
Out from
the muddy trenches of Ypres comes “The Curse Of Millhaven”, who got their name
from a Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds song. The band started in 2012 and already
presents us their first full album.
This quintet brings us technical brutal death metal in the style of Black
Dahlia Murder & All Shall Perish. The vocals sometimes remind me of a mix
between Vorph (Samael) & Steve Tucker (Morbid Angel, Warfather) but are
still very eclectic.
Excellent musicianship indeed.
“Vestibule Of Hell” contains 10 songs giving you 39 minutes of death metal mayhem. There is enough variation in the songs so it doesn’t get boring. There’s a very nice solo and beautiful outro in “Downfall of Inquisition” and the last song “Reditus” is an eerie instrumental song.
The whole Cd package is professional, a 4 leaf folded booklet with lyrics, some nice artwork & linernotes. Check this album out it is worth your time!

Restless - Scarred Souls
Restless
from West-Flanders play a hybrid of metal and hardcore. The mix of metal and
hardcore is more commonly known as metal core, but to be truthful, Restless’s
music has not that much in common with those modern metal core bands. Their
sound makes me think of the first wave of bands to mix metal in their hardcore.
An influence I hear very much is early Hatebreed. I also hear echoes of bands
like Buried Alive, All out war and Merauder.
The 4 songs on this ep are quite solid, although a bit too long. If they were all a bit shorter, I think the impact would be bigger. Other than that I have no complains about this record. Production wise this sounds good, and I think the singer has a very good voice for this kind of music. He reminds me slightly of Jamey Jasta or Scott Vogel.

Bloed & Marteling - Your Love Is like Icecream
Okay….
This will be quite short...
These 3 crazy fukkers from the Genk-area call themselves “vliegtuigneerstortcore” or “wiggergrind”.
This band is not to be taken seriously.
What we have here is somekind of Grindcore version of an early Belgian Asociality. So if you are into a good laugh & like some grindcore then this crazy bunch is for you!
Their “album” contains 17 tracks with titles like "Wallaikzweerbenvangeeenkviezehoereso”,
“Autistic Jazz Club”, & “Knalle in de kontje”. The last song is a "bonustrack" that contains 9 more songs. Their Lyrics differ from Dutch to English and are funny as hell.
I got not much more to say about this, so go check these guys out for a good time and a laugh!

Missiles of October - Don't Panic & Body EP
2
for the price of 1 this time. Missiles of October sent us their 2 releases of
this year. An EP “Body” and their 1st full length album “Don’t
Panic”.
Missiles of October is sort of an “all star”band with some known folks like Bob Seytor (Contingent/Walpurgis), Mathias Salas (Rotyes) & Lionel Beyet (No Hope For All) and bring us dirty heavy hardcore rock that borders on punk and intakes some of its influences. To me it feels like Stoner-rock where the clean vocals were replaced with some grunty ones and a touch of hardcore was added.
The full length “Don’t panic" contains 11 songs which all have a “filthy raw” feel and a high headbanging level to it, Very hard to sit/stand still if you’re listening to this stuff. Seeing these guys live must be a party!
The Body Ep is kind of a single for the full length, it contains 4 songs, Dead Body which also appears on the full length, 2 remixes and a live-song. The remix of “Music for Hangover” has a kinda Jazzy-feel to it, where the remix of Addiction has a dance-groove to it which only shows the diversity of these gentlemen.
A definite must listen to for the fans of the genre!

Bliksem - Face The Evil
Well, here is
an album from a band that scores high on my like-list but I hadn’t got around
to reviewing it yet.
Bliksem is a quintet that brings female fronted Thrash. And I can tell you, this lady nails it!
Face The Evil dates from 2013 and brings us 8 energetic, technical but ‘fore-all catchy songs. This isn’t “full in your face, I’m pissed at everything in the world”- thrash but rather “technical, melodic, I got something to say”-thrash. If I have to make some comparison then I should say I hear some “Risk-like” Megadeth influences with a good touch of Testament. A great plus to Bliksem’s music is the raw voice of their singer Peggy. It adds that certain dimension to this thrash band that gives it just that little more.
Another plus is that “Face The Evil” never gets boring. Lyrics keep hanging around in my mind and I catch myself singing them while doing the dishes…. So I guess that says enough. So stop whatever you’re doing and go check out the album on Spotify or even better buy it through their webstore.
BMU has an interview coming up with Peggy, so that is something to look forward to!
stay tuned!

Merda Mundi - Khaos
This was
quite a difficult review to write. The basics are simple. Merda Mundi is the
black metal band of someone who calls himself D. This D or Déhà has several
projects besides Merda Mundi with styles as diverse as post rock, doom or grind core.
I have not really an idea about the lyrics but musically this is intense aggressive and dark Black Metal with these haunting dark melodies that black metal bands do so well.
And even though D has several bands in other styles, there are not too many outside influences. I had a hard time coming up with bands to compare this to but later Mayhem and bands like Farsot and Aosoth came to mind.
I should also mention the production which is top notch for an underground black metal one man band. And even though I assume the drums are programmed, they sound organic.
Give this band a listen if anything I just described piqued your interest.

Heartfelt - Flaws In Human Nature
At Vlamrock Alex, the drummer of Heartfelt, gave me this short ep by his band. On this record Heartfelt bring us two songs in that very early metal core/ new school hardcore that was popular in the beginning to mid-nineties.
Musically this reminds me of bands like Culture, Kindred and spirit of youth. Lyrically they seem to deal with discontent with the world and the apathy in the current hardcore scene.
If you miss the way hardcore bands sounded in the nineties, and miss those days when bands had something to say, then this record ,and by extension this band, is something for you.

Sanity's Rage - You Are What You Swallow
Again I got
sent an older record, this one dates from 2012 and was sent to me by the Polish
promotor of Sanity’s Rage. But this one is certainly worth listening to. The 11
songs from this album have been blasting through my speakers for about a week
now, and still I can’t get enough.
I can’t add anything to what already has been said in other ’zines and press in the last couple of years.
This is indeed one of the better (if not the best) Thrash metal acts Belgium has produced in years and yes, they do sound like thrash should sound like. I will not compare them to any other band, this is Belgian Thrash! End of story!
Sanity’s Rage just signed with Dead inside records and are working on a new album, so that is something to look forward to.

Evil Warriorz - E.P.
Evil Warriorz
(yes, with a Z) reformed in 2013, hail from Anzegem and describe themselves as
an Old School Black metal band. They send us the songs from their upcoming
split with Balberith from Singapore which contains 4 songs:
Revolution, Casualties, N.O.W. and Jehova Kill.
Evil Warriorz music reminds me of the first records by Venom & Celtic Frost. They even use old school names like Necromancer, Blasphemer & Misanthropic Slayerbeast for the band members.
The 4 songs contains some nice tempochanges and “swung” but they could use a bit more “panache”. Something is missing here but I don’t know what. For old school black metal it sounds too nice. I miss the evilness that bands like Venom used to bring. But then again, the song Revolution sticks to my mind and I find myself humming its chorus. This is a hard one to judge….
I don’t know if there is a scene for this in Belgium and this is the first band that I encounter that goes to bat to bring back old school black metal. I guess time will tell if Evil Warriorz will survive the onslaught of the old school revival.

PESTIFER - REACHING THE VOID
Technical
death metal is a weird genre. It is a melting pot of all the death metal bands
that are not easily defined in the other death metal subgenres. The common
traits that all these bands share, are odd timings and a display of technical
instrument mastery.
The problem with a part of those bands is that they play on a technical level that is slightly beyond their capabilities or that they are so wrapped up in showing off, that they forget to write decent songs.
The Liege based band Pestifier is a technical death metal band that successfully avoids these pitfalls. On their new record “reaching the void” they manage to write technical death metal songs that are a pleasure to listen to and never become boring. And when I saw these guys live they were able to reproduce these songs without any problems. Musically they could be situated somewhere in between Nile (without the Arabic influences), Morbid Angel and Origin.
A fun fact is that I noticed that this band was scheduled for Vlamrock, and went looking for some of their music on Spotify, when I stumbled unto this record. I gave it a listen and decided, based on this record, that this was a band I had to go and see. Only a few days later when I was checking which of the bands on Vlamrock were Belgian did I realize that this was actually a Belgian release. Just to prove that this is a good band that is worthy to compete with the international top of tech death metal bands.
If technical death is even slightly your thing, Reaching the void is a record you should definitly check out.

Speed Queen - Demo
Speed
Queen delivers us a demo through YouTube which contains 2 songs. “Speed Queen”
& “Fly High”.
They are typical NWOBHM songs that take me back a couple of eras to band like Raven, Savage, & Angel Witch. The 2 songs are very catchy & promising. Although the song “Speed Queen” sounds a bit too much like the version from Enforcer.
Sound wise it’s bit low quality though. This is because of the bass drums that are a little too much on top, which drowns out the other instruments & vocals. But I’m sure when these songs get recorded in a professional way they’ll show their true quality.
Considering the age of the members, Speed Queen promises to be a potential talented band of which we might hear more in the future. I’m at least curious what will become of these youngsters and whether they won't drown in the upcome of Speed/thrash & NWOBHM-copycats that are on the horizon.
There even is a link to myself for the singer of Speed Queen used to be the guitarist for my own band Downward. So that makes me even more curious!
So a Good start it is! Check the songs out at

Komah - Between Vice & Virtue
I saw these
guys play at Biesenrock where they gave a solid performance for a tough crowd. Nicolas
(Bass) was kind enough to give me a copy of this CD for review. So I made ‘em
sign it, so when we reach 500 BMU-facebookgroupmembers we’ll give it away in a
contest.
Anyway, Komah hails from beyond our “language border” and brings us a 10 song cd in digipack form
with some nice artwork. Komah is a quintet and has Jonas Sanders (Pro-pain) behind the drums.
They play an aggressive form of modern groove metal and immediately I think of bands like Hatebreed & Black Dahlia Murder when I hear the music. Lyrical-wise I notice a lot of Greek Mythology in the lyrics. Cerberus, Hydra, Heracles, Amazons,… are the topic in many of the songs. The co-operation with Pro-pain shows even more on the 5th song “King of Raptors” which features Gary Meskil & Adam Philips.
In overall this is a Cd that never gets boring and fits among the heavier modern bands that room the scene nowadays. The song “A Humbling Expierence” even gets me to sing along. And the song “Beyond The Limits” is a sort of drumsolo intro for the song “Destiny Written In Blood”

Witch Trail & Sepulchral Voices - 7" Split
I know that
these bands are from Belgium and what these songs sound like, but that is about
it. This is the split 7” of Witch Trail and Sepulchral Voices. Both bands have
a song on this record where they sing the praise of Speed metal, so you will
not be surprised if that is what they play.
But since speed metal is not really a metal subgenre everybody is familiar with, let me explain a bit. Both bands play fast, raw, primitive metal that sounds like Motörhead on speed. If you think by now, wait a minute, a rawer, faster, darker version of Motörhead, that reminds me of Venom, Hellhamer, early Sodom and Kreator, etc…, then you are spot on. That is exactly how these bands sounds. They even sound like those early eighties’ demos production wise.
The difference between both bands is that Witch trail sound a bit more defined and has some early thrash hints, while Sepulchral voices sounds a bit darker, more primitive and leans towards black metal sometimes.
If you have nostalgia to the way underground metal sounded in the tape trading days, this is a release for you.

Chikatilo - Mistake Of Nature EP
The first
ep from this young band from Halle, that claims to be playing slam death metal.
But as we all know slam is just another word for beatdown but from the death
metal side of things. So what we actually get is the sort of death metal/
hardcore hybrid the metal scene calls hardcore and the hardcore scene considers
death metal.
Chikatilo throw a whole bunch of slow mosh parts intended to practice kickboxing moves on, some slamming simple death/grind parts, some tuff guy hardcore parts and some funny samples together. I have to confess that I’m not really into this kind of music anymore, but in my early twenties I went to a lot of those shows, and the three songs and intro on this Ep could sound convincing enough.
If I may offer one piece of advice for these guys next release, go and record in a better studio. The sound seems a bit thin. I think that with a fuller, warmer sound the impact of this record would be bigger.
https://www.facebook.com/ChikatiloSlam
note: the band let us know it was a low budget recording hence the low quality sound.

Emptiness - Nothing But The Whole
I heard the
name of this band before, but I never really listened to them. But the other
day at work I stumbled onto a YouTube link for their latest album: Nothing but
the whole, and I decided to give them a try.
And was I in for a surprise. On “nothing but the whole” Emptiness play a dark and haunting hybrid of post- black- and death metal. So they play atmospheric dark tracks with still some undertones of death metal brutality. The first time listening to this it may seem quite simple, but there is something to be discovered each time you play this.
I think the reason why this band is not that well known yet is because it is a side project by members of amongst others Enthroned and Pro pain.
Do yourself a favor and give this record a spin on one of these links.

Aborted - The Necrotic Manifesto
The latest
record by Belgian death/grind pride Aborted. On their last 2 records they tried
to incorporate some metal core influences and I did not really like that so
much. On this record they still make a modern blend of grind, death metal and
modern metal core, but this time the songs lean more towards grind and death. I
also feel that on this record the songwriting is better than on the previous
two albums as if this time around they were a bit more inspired.
Aborted has always had that dark horror theme in their music and the concept for this album gave them the opportunity to use that to maximum effect. A song like Die Verzweiflung is both dark and brutal at the same time.
All in all, the necrotic manifesto is one of the better recent Aborted albums.

Disinterred - Incantation
Let me
start off with a disclaimer. Some of the people in this band attended my
wedding. So there is a slight possibility that this review is a bit biased.
Nevertheless Disinterred managed to create a record full of heavy and raw death metal. Unlike a lot of the current death metal bands, they don’t try to mimic the sound of the legendary death metal bands, but they draw their influences from the grind, crust, thrash and rock bands that inspired these bands in the first death metal wave.
The result is a sound that is similar to the early recordings of those British and Swedish bands but with a, heavier more modern ,yet still organic sounding, production.
If you have any love for old school death metal you own it to yourself to give Disinterred a listen or even better, go see them blasting everything away live.

Humanity Defiled - Circling The Drain
I know that
this was released over a year ago, but since we are a fairly new site we
thought it would be a good idea to write a review for this in case you missed
out on this record.
Humanity defiled is a one man death metal - grind band from the west of our little country. Sound wise they/he can be situated somewhere between Krisiun, Misery index and (also originally from that area of Belgium) Aborted. Production wise it can’t measure up to these bands of course but song wise those bands better pay attention to this record.
The whole cd flows, and even though it is very brutal and fast, manages to keep your attention throughout the whole length of the record.
You can listen and legally download the entire record from here: http://humanitydefiled.bandcamp.com/ so what is keeping you from checking this out.

Moss Upon The Skull - Imperial Summoning
The debut
7” of a young and ,based on these songs, promising Belgian Band. If you want to
put it simple you can say that Moss upon the skull plays death metal. And you
would not be wrong. But where the prime goal for most death metal bands is to
sound as brutal and technical as possible, this band seems to have other
priorities.
They incorporate doom, black and post metal undertones in order to create good songs where the mood and feeling seem more important than breaking the speed limit. This results in organic, breathing and impressive metal songs. And don’t worry, they still have enough brutality and odd timings to qualify as a great death metal band.
You should really check them out and then you’d probably agree with me and I'm really looking forward to what this band will bring us next.

EYES OF THE INSANE - PROMO 2014
Brussels
based outfit Eyes of the insane formed in 2013 and deliver their first recorded
songs with this promo. These songs fall in the category modern groovy metal
with clear influences from bands like
Gojira, Soulfly, Biohazard etc...
This threesome recorded this promo with help of Jonas Sanders, the current drummer for Propain. But I feel that especially in the track Insanity, it shows that the drummer is a session drummer. Some of the drum breaks in that song seem weird to me. I think that song would benefit from some rehearsals/writing sessions with a steady drummer to work out the flow a bit more. According to me the best song on this demo is Black Doom. The other two songs have some very nice parts but are not as convincing as a whole.
But all in all this is a promising first outing for this band, and I’m looking forward to see what they come up with next with some more live experience under their belt.

FULL FRONTAL FACE FUCKERS - CUMBUST
I think the
people in the full frontal face fuckers are having a lot of fun being in this porn
inspired partyband. Musically they play a very simple form of death metal that draws
influences from old school death metal like Autopsy (but they are not that
brutal), Scum era Napalm Death (but not as angry or fast) and modern gore bands
like cliteater (but never sound as dirty). Lyrically they are all about humorous
ways to degenerate women using sex.
I can imagine that this band can throw a great party live, and that this record would be a good souvenir of a great show, but this is not a record that will change the face of metal forever.
